Look Your Best For Christmas Parties

It has been two years since we’ve been able to put our glad rags on, cover ourselves in glittery accessories, and enjoy a proper Christmas party. So it’s no wonder we all want to look our best, whether we’ve got an office do planned or want to see the New Year in style.

Here are our top tips on how to steal the show for all the right reasons.

Choose the right outfit

Christmas is a time there are no rules when it comes to your outfit. Nothing is too bold, too sparkly, too colourful. Therefore, ladies can go all out with their frock, whether that’s a floor-length gown or a thigh-splitting, neck-plunging party dress.

It seems women are certainly keen to impress with their outfits this year, as online searches for “Christmas dresses” soared by 628 per cent between August and November, showing just how much forethought everyone has put into their look already.

Illuminating skin

It isn’t just our dresses we want to sparkle over Christmas, as we would love illuminating skin as well. You can wear the most glamourous dress and choose the highest heels, but if you don’t feel confident with your appearance, this will certainly show.

Book yourself in for a Million Dollar hydrafacial in Essex for glowing skin on the night. This will reduce fine lines, increase collagen production making you look younger, and brighten up your skin. This facial removes up to four weeks of dead skin cells, gets rid of toxins, and boosts hydration levels.

Bold accessories

Accessories should also be considered when planning your look, and Sarah Milmine, founder of Wonderlust, told SW Londoner of the latest trends this Christmas.

With accessories the bolder the better this time of year, but if you’ve chosen a particularly glitzy outfit then this is the time for delicate accessories to shine!” she stated.

The fashion expert also noted big sparkly earrings, high heels, and a statement bag are all favourites for a festive outfit. This year’s Christmas parties are all about feathers too, whether kept “low slung with a co-ordinated cami” or as a trim on a jacket.

Glamour waves

Most people heading on their work night out have to do so after a busy day in the office. So, it is unrealistic to think you can spend hours in a hair salon getting your tresses preened.

That’s why the go-to style for this year’s festive soirees are simple, but beautiful, glamour waves. This look allows for curls to drop after a day at work, with the style able to be embellished with some sparkly clips.

If your hair is prone to dropping too much, you can always pull it up into a wavy pony, which GHD Hair describes as: “Ethereal and simple, it’s the ultimate boho party look.”

Alternatively, you can pin it up more with a romantic updo, which is perfect for an elegant Christmas event.

“Pair with statement earrings and bold lips to radiate festive glamour,” GHD suggests. We love this style with a flutter sleeve mini dress in gold or a wine-coloured asymmetrical floor-length gown if you want to make a big impression this season.
